This message is going out solely to our "basic" or free memberships.
First, thank you for your participation and attention to these updates. We are certainly stronger together! To that end, I am reaching out to ask if you would consider upgrading to a "premium" membership at FFDOA.
As you may be aware, COVID negatively impacted the FFDO program as a whole, reducing the overall population to its lowest level in years. Consequently, FFDOA's numbers have declined as well.
All Officers, Directors and Associates are volunteers, and receive no compensation or benefit for the time we spend working on FFDOA issues, but the association has recurring expenses such as website costs, security updates, payment processing, email servers, and NAPO dues. As president of the association, I am not comfortable with our recovery after COVID, so we are in the process of exploring options to grow the association more aggressively and better advertise what the association provides FFDOs:
- Coverage under the FFDOA Legal Defense Plan, which provides legal representation for critical incidents and TSA administrative investigations.
- Access to optional FEDS Personal Liability Insurance Plan (FFDOA-negotiated discounts on coverage up to $2,000,000 available).
- Premium, Member's-only, secure Internet Forum to discuss FFDO and other issues.
- Privileged communications from the FFDOA Leadership.
- Instructor Articles, Helpful Links via the FFDOA website and forum.
- Full, unrestricted access to hundreds of vendor discounts on guns, ammo, holsters, clothing, watches, sunglasses, flashlights, sporting goods, gear, etc.
FFDOA Officers and Directors have been key stakeholders in the program since its inception, advocating for SOP and SSI reform, carriage issues, advanced training, international harmonization and budget increases (to name a few). Also, FFDOA has provided critical guidance and care to many who have had trouble or been subject to a disciplinary process.
The cost is $55 per year, and I am asking you, as a basic member, to consider an upgrade to help us continue to move forward.

By clicking on the "plus" sign, it will take you to a landing page to upgrade to a premium membership. Our associates that process your membership should know you are already a basic member, but if you would add the word "UPGRADE" into the "NOTES" section of the application, there will be no need to re-verify your status as an active FFDOA member.

Regardless of whether you decide to upgrade, we are thankful to have you as an FFDOA member and would ask to please spread the word about our Association whenever the opportunity arises. Because of the sensitive nature of the program, it is not easy “getting the word out”, so we appreciate your help!
